Before recently graduating with a 2:1 in Human Geography, my journey in the workforce has been largely centered on hospitality, working in a local restaurant for 5 years, I cultivated valuable skills in customer service, teamwork, adaptability, problem-solving, and eventually leadership and I am now excited to apply these skills in a professional role.
As a recent graduate with a degree in Human Geography, I've had the privilege of exploring the world through the lens of geography, with a particular focus on diplomacy and environmental management., I've honed skills in research, data analysis, and critical thinking. My coursework and projects allowed me to investigate complex issues, such as climate diplomacy, environmental management and its disputes, resource management, and various planning projects and approaches in order to develop innovative solutions.
My academic journey was finalised with a dissertation that delved into a critical issue, the public's perception of climate change. This research project involved extensive collaboration with diverse communities, where I engaged with the public to understand their perspectives on climate change. Through this process, I improved my skills in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, statistical modelling, and community outreach. Not only did this project improve my understanding of a complex and critical issue in today's world, but it also strengthened my passion and desire to progress in an industry that tackles similar issues.
