MARTIN GREENSLADE

Senior lecturer in shiphandling and simulation. Instructing marine professionals of various experience on short courses. The organisation of the maintenance of the lake facility and associated hardware including manned models and infrastructure. The development of an Azi Pod manned model course in prparation for the conversion of a manned model to Azi propulsion.

• Served as a Marine Pilot authorized by the Bristol Port Company from 1999 involving the piloting of commercial shipping in and out of the docks and locks of Avonmouth and Royal Portbury Docks.
• Experience in navigating ships up to 300m in length and 150,000 tonnes in displacement within challenging tidal and weather environments.
• Chairman of the Bristol Channel Pilots from 1997-2022 where I was responsible for the operation of the organization and representing the Pilots in close partnership with the CHA.
• Partnership training pilot and assisted in developing the simulator training model hosted at Wallingford.

• Founded a Travel Agency in 2004 Global Cruising.
• Developed a Cruise Travel Franchise network and grew the network to 24 franchises over 8 years.
• Responsible for the merger of Global Cruising Ltd with the Cruise Holidays US Business launching Cruise Holidays UK.

• During my service aboard Passenger Vessels I took numerous Sea Survival Craft and Basic Sea Survival Courses for the crew
• I was seconded as the Fleet Safety Training Officer for 1 year spending time on board each of the Company Vessels training the crew in safety related tasks and promoting a consistent safety culture around the fleet. This involved auditing the safety organization within the Company's procedures.
• I served aboard many of the Princess Cruises and P&O Cruises Fleet in ranks from Third Officer to Safety Officer.
• I stood by the fitting out of a new vessel spending 6 months during the commissioning stage of the vessel as Safety Officer.

• Served as a Deck Cadet aboard various ships of the P&O Containers Fleet and completed my cadetship before sailing as Third Navigating Officer.
• Represented P&O Fleet at the Royal Tournament in the Company's 150th anniversary Year.
