  • Within 6 Months of joining Openreach as a frames Engineer I was asked to join & help build a new night team to complete local loop unbundling (LLU) for various different customers such as Sky, Talk Talk Etc.
  • The role was very different from what I had signed up for. I was in charge of upwards of 90 contractors both training them to do the job & health & safety, Work allocation, Quality, timesheets etc. While not a requirement I was contactable 24hr’s a day which became widely known within the LLU group.

  • Hawker Pacific where the UK’s biggest Undercarriage repair & Overhaul Company. They where then bought out By Lufthansa Technik.
  • I was recommended for this position by a former colleague from my previous job.
  • I was brought in originally to be a stores supervisor and too oversea the move from the much smaller engineering shop based at Heathrow to a new custom built unit in Hayes, while the shop was still working.
  • The stores area grew in size ten fold in the new unit.
  • After approximately 6 months I was promoted to stores and transport manager from there I took over all stores and worldwide transport while maintaining both CCA and FAA aircraft part accountability. Contactable 24hr’s a day. Had to deal with Major customer problems I.E. AOG (aircraft on the ground Unplanned Maintenance).
  • The stores where responsible for picking all items as per job cards and also track and trace of parts bought in from suppliers worldwide in the required timeframe. We held approx. 8 to 10 million dollars of stock at any one time which I was accountable for and produced one of the company’s best ever Stock takes.

  • Aircraft interior builders. From galleys to seat’s & toilets etc.
  • I originally joined Rumbolds on a six-month contract to help build and stock a new stores area for their prototype bed seat. My contract was extended and I continued to work as a contractor for a number of years. When the prototype was finalized production was moved into a new building where I was responsible for design of stores.
  • After which I became the Store’s Supervisor. I ran the store’s liaising with both production controllers and purchasing departments. I was in charge of 18 staff. Responsible for goods receipt, cycle counting MRP Data Entry Kitting to job cards ensuring traceability as required by CAA and FAA ISO 9001 etc.
