Work History

Web Developer Apprentice

Select Products International Ltd
Paignton, Devon
12.2024 - 02.2025
  • Communication and Teamwork: For their helpdesk software, I was asked by customer service to create a snooze function to return to a ticket (customer query) later at the correct time. By asking for clarification, I avoided wasting potentially 2 hours on implementing details that were not required, such as sending an email notification.
  • Problem Solving: Solved problems independently to implement solutions in code, but also collaborated with the senior developer to discuss solutions when required.
  • Organisation: Created to-do lists in Google Docs, breaking down the steps of tasks to make solving each problem easier.

Admin Assistant (Temp)

Yodel
Newton Abbot, Devon
10.2024 - 12.2024
  • Data entry for the variance hours of workers to help with payroll
  • Send out parcels given by customers
  • Deliver parcels to customers when they came to collect them
  • Troubleshot parcels with problems such as bad addresses
  • Check proof of delivery images to make sure parcels are delivered properly
  • Answered phone calls to help our couriers with deliveries

05.2024 - 10.2024
  • Left due to few projects being available. The work involves rating AI models like ChatGPT so that they can improve their responses. Typical projects are where you provide a prompt and are then given two responses, one from each AI model, which are compared and rated. I have done work for normal text conversations, basic coding, and math.
  • Attention to detail: I often have to fact-check to make sure what the models are saying is correct
  • Follow instructions: Each project comes with unique constraints, and a lot of reading is involved
  • Flexibility: I never know what projects will be available on a given day, and sometimes there are none
  • Creativity: To think of new prompts to ask the AI models that will challenge them
  • Numeracy skills: Some tasks are very mathematical
  • IT skills: Use of Google to research and basic coding skills
  • Time pressure: All projects come with a timer that the task must be completed within
  • Organisation: I have to report my own time worked on each project, do all the admin involved with being self-employed, and set my work schedule

Logistics/Production Operative

Harrier LLC
Newton Abbot, Devon
10.2022 - 05.2024
  • Started in production and then moved my way towards the logistics team. It involved:
  • Working in a team to organise mail, while often manually producing labels by myself, in a friendly environment
  • Making sure that the products make it onto the delivery lorries for distribution on time
  • Ad-hoc tasks such as sending intercompany parcels, sending click-and-collect items, and finding out tracking numbers for our dispatched mail
  • Communicated with various departments, such as finance, customer service, and product development, via email to complete ad-hoc tasks
  • Data entry for manually producing labels by filling in online forms and organising that data into Excel spreadsheets
  • Heavy lifting of boxes of outgoing letters and parcels

Waiter

McCreedy Restaurants
Bakewell, Derbyshire
11.2021 - 09.2022
  • Ranked by a colleague, who was close to the manager, as the best waiter she had known since she started working there 6 years ago. I did this via:
  • Teamwork, communicating well, and talking to people in a polite and friendly manner
  • Managing a high-pressure environment to get various work done promptly; low-staff days were managed well
  • Providing excellent customer service, making sure that everyone is satisfied, and making free drinks after mistakes
