  • Primary Purpose of role: Primary point of contact for the contract with Unilever head office and liaising with respective external helpdesks, ensuring a high level of service is maintained to both Internal and external customers.
  • Key Accountabilities:
  • Looking after the WMS which is a computerised system that operates the warehouse and making sure it runs smoothly. Making sure all duties are covered 24/7 with 7 clerks over 3 shift pattern i.e; stock reconciliation, traffic desk and goods In desk.
  • Making sure all computerised kits on the FLT’s and electric barrows are all functioning properly, also liaising with the supplier of the kit in case of any malfunctions.
  • Maintaining all PC’s are in working order and monitoring the servers. Also maintaining all HP printers, despatch printers and fax machines on site, also ordering and controlling stationary and office consumables.
  • Monitoring stock rotation and quantity levels for customer requirements. Keeping in contact with suppliers, customers and hauliers to make sure they receive a high standard of work and commitment.
  • Part of the role also required me to be on 24hr call for any problems with the WMS or any administration equipment or issues.
  • Management of site interfaces, time and attendance, RF equipment, telephone system, Lotus Notes & data points, etc.

Organisational Skills

  • As an established member of the Transport Team at Seafields, I help to organise haulier meetings. This involves assessing each haulier against certain Key Performance Criteria (KPI) such as punctuality, delivery conformation times, late deliveries etc..
  • As a member of the Systems team at B&Q Distribution Centre, we monitor the picking systems WMS (Warehouse Management System ) & LWS (Licensed Warehouse Scheme ) and the semi automation system that the engineering company called Logistex maintain. I am responsible for organising KPI’s for the 15 highbay cranes (which hold 94,000 pallets), 6 miniload cranes (which holds 36,000 totes) and conveyors. Now as of 2021 a new Tote picking area which is fully automated called PTS (put to store) which has a separate picking system LWS, which also has 5 aisles with 140 shuttles holding 90,000 totes.
