

I am a facilities and maintenance professional currently working at David Lloyd Clubs in a combined maintenance operative and duty manager role. I have developed strong hands-on and operational experience maintaining complex facilities within a premium, member-focused environment, while also leading teams and supporting the day-to-day running of the club. I am trusted to take ownership of compliance, contractor performance, cost control, and operational standards, ensuring facilities are safe, reliable, and consistently well maintained. I am now seeking to progress into a regional facilities manager role, where I can apply my experience, leadership approach, and practical mindset to support and improve standards across a wider group of clubs.
In my current role, I take ownership of the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and compliance of a high-usage David Lloyd club, ensuring facilities consistently meet brand standards and support a premium member experience. I am responsible for complex building services, including pool plant systems, spa facilities, HVAC, and building fabric, maintaining safe and reliable operation through a balanced approach to reactive response and preventative maintenance.
I manage and coordinate external contractors and internal resources, overseeing work from initial identification through to completion. This includes raising and managing quotes, monitoring spending, and ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, and to expected David Lloyd standards. I work closely with club management and third-party suppliers to plan works effectively and minimize operational impact.
Alongside maintenance delivery, I regularly operate as Duty Manager, acting as the senior responsible person on site. In this capacity, I lead cross-functional teams, manage incidents and escalations, respond to member concerns, and make real-time operational decisions to protect safety, service, and experience. I lead by example, ensuring compliance with health and safety, pool plant requirements, and internal procedures, while actively contributing to continuous improvement by addressing recurring issues, strengthening communication, and raising operational standards across the club.
I gained broad electrical experience while completing my NVQ Level 3, working across domestic housing projects and electrical installations, alongside electrical maintenance and project work on cruise ships with Cunard and P&O. I also spent several years running my own construction projects, coordinating multiple trades and delivering successful outcomes within the construction industry.
