Summary

Having been in the hospitality industry for many years, I feel I have the ability to transform and push your business forward.

With many years of experience in the hospitality industry, I have developed the expertise and insight needed to drive your business forward and achieve great results.

Be it General Managing a Hotel with 35 rooms, A private Country Club my eye for detail is always forefront.

I am a hands-on General Manager, willing to listen, learn and give staff the opportunity to flourish and become part of the Team. Hospitality is a team effort, and every person has a part to play.

Marketing is important, along with social media and listening to the local community.

Acknowledging and rewarding staff is essential to building a happy and motivated team.
Celebrating milestones, birthdays, achievements and expressing gratitude are key elements in fostering a positive work environment.

Training staff to work under pressure, demonstrating that we have their backs and that they feel safe.

I consider myself to be a great people person, enjoying listening to their comments and getting to know the clients, both young and not so young.

I have run venues with small teams of 15 – 20, to larger venues with 100 plus staff.

Also run charity events with over 120 staff, all kept in the loop and working to deadlines as these events must be finished on time.

Ensuring the venue is in to tip top condition, clean, tidy and ready for our guests to arrive.

I believe I would be a valuable asset with a keen eye for details, ensuring that every aspect of the business is meticulously managed for optimal results.

Describe myself

Kind, honest, reliable. I can be firm when needed, to ensure managers are getting the job done and getting the best out of each department, I am trustworthy and fun to be around. KIND is my Favourite word

What is my best attribute - Listen to my staff - they want to be heard and validated

My worst attribute – dark chocolate and ginger biscuits – eat the whole box in one

I am heavily involved in the recruitment and the coaching/mentoring of my team. I set up the accounting and wages system, which is now copied throughout the estate. Setting and maintaining high standards with our food and wine offerings and general day to day running of the Swan is where I get my ‘high’. When we opened our doors our average bookings per week were 225 within 12 months we are running at anywhere between 1500 and 2000 guests per week with an average spend per head of £28.95.

  • My responsibilities covered design, marketing, recruitment, staff training, budgets, accounts, entertainments and running events for large corporate parties. I was also asked to take on the off-set catering facilities for the film crews. I increased the business in less than 3 years
