Having completed my apprenticeship in mechanics, I chose to travel abroad on a motorcycle for approximately two years prior to returning to the UK. I then worked in a welding shop associated with my ex employer Sammy Miller where I learnt many aspects regarding welding and fabrication of competition motorcycle frames etc.
In September 1987 I then joined Dorset Police and enjoyed a 27 year career prior to retirement.
In 2014 I worked as a lecture/mentor for 16-18 year old children with educational difficulties, teaching mechanics and building construction.
In 2019 I worked at the Old Sarum Airfield as part of the fire crew. My responsibilities included fuel quality monitoring and recordings, general maintenance, repairs and servicing of the airfield vehicles and equipment and mowing of the airstrip and associated areas.
More recently I was employed as a delivery driver and maintenance man for our local micro brewery in Cranborne, Dorset.
I consider myself to be a fit, enthusiastic worker who is a good communicator and enjoys interaction with the general public. I would also like to think that I am a good team worker and problem solver who is able to work on his own initiative.
My interests are sport, nature, DIY, mechanics and aviation. (I was an air cadet in my youth.) I very much enjoy being around historic airfields and aircraft.
Delivered beer casks throughout Dorset/Hampshire, pub liaison and general maintenance with occasional bar shifts.
