  • Managing a team of five departmental managers, an overall workforce of 38, and up to 20 subcontractors at any one time.
  • Responsible for three key areas: the day-to-day running of a busy transport department, warehousing, and compliance.
  • The fleet consists of vans up to artics, with a mixture of same day, next day (via our pallet network), and specialised haulage.
  • Successful delivery of 220-240 pallets inbound daily within our geographical area and outbound of 90-120 pallets daily throughout the UK, utilising 124 depots nationally.
  • Delivery of 15-25 same-day deliveries on a daily basis, with a mixture of air freight, events, food and beverage, dangerous goods, and plant and machinery.

  • I worked closely with the M.D., Transport Manager, Sales Manager, and Finance Manager to ensure the smooth running of the operation, with a main focus on overseeing the busy and challenging same-day operation that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

  • Whilst working for Sipson Group, I managed to grow and develop; I started off as a driver, and during this time, I developed and found my love for transport and logistics.
  • After my first year, I completed my manager's National CPC; once I completed my course, I was promoted to Transport Manager.
  • I was responsible for 10 lorry drivers and 15 car, van collection, and delivery drivers.
  • I also worked with other transport companies to arrange the collection and deliveries of new and de-fleeted vehicles to and from our site.
  • I was also responsible for the yard manager and the yard team to pull and load the correct vehicles as per the manifest from the supplier.
  • Manage the safety of operations.
  • Maintain O Licence and work within guidelines.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day running and working closely with transport planners and drivers.
