In my current role as a BT Power and Infrastructure Planner, I assume responsibility for overseeing capacity management and electrical distribution operations across 200+ BT buildings spanning the entirety of Devon and Cornwall.

My day-to-day responsibilities involve collaborating closely with customers to ensure precise capture of their requirements and specifications. This entails conducting stand-alone site surveys, producing detailed designs, and compiling comprehensive schedules of requirements.

A significant portion of my role involves liaising with contractors and stakeholders to ensure the seamless execution of projects, from initial conception to final handover. I facilitate various site meetings, including inception, pre-start, and handover sessions, where I foster open communication channels and ensure alignment with project objectives and timelines.

A key aspect of my role is production of detailed documentation such as job packages and SORs, ensuring strict adherence to design specifications and regulatory standards. I manage all aspects of AC enabling projects, from basic AC work to more detailed complex projects including generator upgrades, DNO supply enhancements, switchgear installations, DC power systems, integration of cooling systems, and any associated building works, while prioritizing health and safety considerations at every stage of the project lifecycle.

In addition to this I also manage the inspection, test, and

remedial programme for my sites to ensure all Health and Safety requirements are met.
