Operations Director for ALL the Northern Rail Terminals - Responsible for the financial performance of the rail terminals operations, Health & Safety - welfare and the development of personal. Focused on creating strategic direction and sustainable bottom-line growth, through strong cost management and commercial focus, within a heavily challenging unionised environment.

Northern Rail Terminals:

Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Doncaster and Coatbridge (Scotland)

Managing 50 freight trains per day across the 5 rail terminals

Achievements:

Delivered a £2.2 Million head cost saving over 3 years across the 5 Northern rail terminals. I was also one of the key project sponsors for a £26 Million technology implementation across the whole of the rail terminal business, introducing an automated gates system linked to (VBS) vehicle booking system.

Own business - Opportunity presented itself to chauffeur high profile business executives, footballers and TV stars.

Previously held the position of Operations Director from 2007 - 2013.

Was successfully engaged as Managing Director of Stobart (Inland) Ports Ltd. I inherited a company with a £8 million turnover that I successfully increased to £30 million over a 3 year period.

Responsible for the overseeing of the whole inland ports operation including, the setting and achieving of testing budgetary targets, acquisition of new business, compliance with stringent transport regulatory and legislative requirements and compliance with all health and safety regulations pertinent to an operation of the scale of Stobart inland Ports.

Agreed a 12 month contract with a view to overseeing the clubs transition from the Championship league into the Super league - including building a NEW player squad, kit supplier, attracting sponsorship and developing a NEW fan membership scheme.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director and responsible for all of the inland ports operations - Senior Staff, Transport, Terminals storage of containers and all rail in and out of the facility.

Reporting directly to the Operations Director and responsible for overseeing both the Transport and Terminal operations.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager - responsible for the transport, fleet compliance, driver training plus coaching and mentoring of all the staff.

Reporting directly to the Transport Manager and responsible for all the traffic planners, with a view to making sure that we exceed our customer expectations.
