  • Installation, Configuration and maintenance of school networks across Staffordshire, Birmingham and latterly Worcestershire and Hereford.
  • Travel to customer sites to carry out installations and repairs on networks using mainly HPE/Aruba switches along with some Cisco /Meraki and Juniper equipment.
  • Carry out wireless surveys for customers both desktop and onsite and translate these into quotes for new installations and also upgrades.
  • Install and configure WiFi systems from various vendors including HP/Aruba, Cisco Meraki, Aerohive, Cambium Networks and Juniper.
  • Exposure to various management tools such as Aruba Central, Cisco DNA, Cisco Meraki / wireless and SDWAN also extensive use of command line for fault finding and configuration.
  • Responsibility for configuring and maintaining internet filtering for schools using various tools such as Lightspeed and Netsweeper.
  • Acted as interface between schools and our Third Party ISP to diagnose any firewall issues that schools reported then translate these into change requests for our ISP firewall team to implement.
  • Documenting school networks and maintaining up to date records of all changes.
  • Monitoring network health using various tools such as HP IMC, PRTG and Solarwinds.
  • Exposure to Cisco IP Telephony. Installation and Maintenance of handsets etc in conjunction with our VoIP team.
