- Reporting to the Group Transport Operations Director I am directly responsible for the performance & management of the Wincanton EyeQ planning control tower. This entails line management of six senior managers and an overall team of seventy including digital, procurement, haulier relationship and contract management alongside the planning functions. My role has responsibility for £130 million core fleet planning across 25 contracts with a further £100million external subcontracting spend.
- For the past eighteen months, I have been responsible for managing the digitisation of subcontracting and the roll out of the online market place EyeQ.
- Start up and creation of subcontracting centre of excellence, centralising £100million of external subcontract spend. Managing both 3PL and 4PL suppliers increasing subcontractor base, improving relationships and margins
- Managed relocation of team and function to new bespoke headquarters in Nottingham
- Start up and creation of national planning control tower. Centralising core fleet planning processes for 25 contracts through multiple TMS systems including Ortec and Paragon. Reduced empty running by 18% and load fill by 4%.
- Operational lead for purchase and roll out of digital freight platform market place Zeus
- Management of haulier procurement and relationship team driving the strategy
- Successful startup and onboarding of several major multi million pounds contracts, most recently Sainsburys, British Salt and Marshall Mono.
- Co- Designed and led a multi millions pound TMS roll out across the business. Standardising all planning functions.

- Reporting to the 4PL Director I was directly responsible for the midlands 4PL transport operation including subcontractor management, commercials, health & safety, resource management and rate negotiation for twelve customer sites across the UK for three major multi million pound contracts

- Linq Alliance as part of the Bedfords Group was a national 3PL Logistics Company comprising of own fleet vehicles supported by regional sub contract partners.
- Working in the head office at Castle Donington, I reported directly to the group operations director and was responsible for the logistical management and planning of over 200 consignments per day.
- Joining the Group upon the opening of the East Midlands office as a planner, I played a key role in the growth of the company, resulting in my promotion to operations manager

- Working out of their regional distribution centre in Nottingham, I was responsible for the distribution of ready mix concrete from seven production plants across Notts, Derbys & Leicestershire. Planning a fleet of owner driver mixer wagons, exceptional planning skills were required to guarantee customer deliveries within a 30 minute window.

- PD Logistics are a large shipping, warehousing and logistics company with depots throughout the UK. In my role I was responsible for the day to day operation of our four remote site’s resources including drivers, vehicles and subcontractors

- Bulkhaul are a world leader in the distribution of chemicals and bulk powders with depots in over 15 countries. For the first 6 months I was the UK 30ft box container traffic planner, before being promoted to the role of European Logistics Planner covering Germany & Hungary. This involved developing excellent working relationships with international sub contractors to service key customer accounts including BP Amoco and DOW Chemicals.
- Through regular meetings with international rail suppliers I negotiated the tariffs to be used by Bulkhaul throughout Germany by guaranteeing dedicated volumes.
- I developed and maintained excellent working relationships with a number of new sub contractors in both Germany and Hungary.
Traffic Planner

- R. Durhams were a well renowned, family run UK general haulage company who were later bought by PD Logistics. Starting as a trainee traffic planner, my duties included checking driver’s tachographs and operating the vehicle tracking system. Within twelve months I was promoted to the role of ‘return load’ planner. I then ran the pallet network operation before being promoted to senior transport planner where, with my assistant, I was responsible for planning upwards of fifty loads per day both groupage and full load consignments.
- Full responsibility for a key account, Black and Decker who required a ‘just in time’ delivery service twenty four hours per day. This involved monthly planning meetings with the customer.
- As return load planner I developed several regular lanes of traffic with some of the largest third party logistics companies in the country.
- Upon the company joining a pallet network for the first time, I attended all of the meetings with Pallex and was in charge of routing the collections and deliveries once the network had started.
