Reporting to the Group Transport Operations Director I am directly responsible for the performance & management of the Wincanton EyeQ planning control tower. This entails line management of six senior managers and an overall team of seventy including digital, procurement, haulier relationship and contract management alongside the planning functions. My role has responsibility for £130 million core fleet planning across 25 contracts with a further £100million external subcontracting spend.
For the past eighteen months, I have been responsible for managing the digitisation of subcontracting and the roll out of the online market place EyeQ.

Bulkhaul are a world leader in the distribution of chemicals and bulk powders with depots in over 15 countries. For the first 6 months I was the UK 30ft box container traffic planner, before being promoted to the role of European Logistics Planner covering Germany & Hungary. This involved developing excellent working relationships with international sub contractors to service key customer accounts including BP Amoco and DOW Chemicals.
Through regular meetings with international rail suppliers I negotiated the tariffs to be used by Bulkhaul throughout Germany by guaranteeing dedicated volumes.
I developed and maintained excellent working relationships with a number of new sub contractors in both Germany and Hungary.

R. Durhams were a well renowned, family run UK general haulage company who were later bought by PD Logistics. Starting as a trainee traffic planner, my duties included checking driver’s tachographs and operating the vehicle tracking system. Within twelve months I was promoted to the role of ‘return load’ planner. I then ran the pallet network operation before being promoted to senior transport planner where, with my assistant, I was responsible for planning upwards of fifty loads per day both groupage and full load consignments.
Full responsibility for a key account, Black and Decker who required a ‘just in time’ delivery service twenty four hours per day. This involved monthly planning meetings with the customer.
As return load planner I developed several regular lanes of traffic with some of the largest third party logistics companies in the country.
Upon the company joining a pallet network for the first time, I attended all of the meetings with Pallex and was in charge of routing the collections and deliveries once the network had started.
