Marie Carey

Clifton,Greater Manchester

Summary

After a fulfilling career spanning over four decades, I have recently taken early retirement following 15 years of dedicated service with Greater Manchester Police on a murder investigation team, preceded by 25 years with the Civil Service. Throughout my career, I have consistently demonstrated exceptional commitment, integrity, and a strong work ethic. My extensive experience in public service has honed my skills in communication, problem-solving and customer service, all of which I am eager to bring to a part-time role in the retail industry.

During my tenure with Greater Manchester Police, I excelled in various capacities, leveraging my ability to engage effectively with the public and outside organisations, resolve conflicts and to work as part of a team. My background in the Civil Service further enriched my skill set, providing a solid foundation in administration, organisation, and policy implementation.

Now, as I transition to the next chapter of my professional journey, I am seeking part-time employment opportunities within the retail sector where I can utilise my customer service expertise to contribute positively to a team, engage with customers, and support business operations. My goal is to continue making meaningful contributions in a dynamic and customer-focused environment.

Although my retail sales experience dates back a long time, I gained valuable skills during that period which remain relevant today. I worked in a busy store environment where my customer service abilities, learning to engage effectively with customers, understand their needs, and provide tailored solutions led me into the career I had for the past 40 years. These foundational experiences have equipped me with a solid understanding of retail operations and customer interaction, which I am confident will be beneficial in any future retail role.
