Duties consisted of mucking out stables, making feeds, handling of broodmares and youngstock to/from the field, driving the quad and trailer for field maintenance, and general daily care of the horses.

Turn out of horses, stable maintenance, driving the quad and trailer for field maintenance, as well as keeping the general order of the smallholding. I happily worked together with colleagues; equally I was occasionally left in sole charge of the yard and prioritised jobs when necessary.

Daily duties included mucking out 14 stalls, turning out client horses, and orchestrating farrier/vet visits. General maintenance of the yard to keep it suitable for liveries and helping them with any requirements they may have.

Duties included mucking out stables and other general yard duties such as feeding, watering, turnout, putting horses on the walker, and some secretarial duties for the owners such as answering the phone and scheduling appointments. I also helped with fence judging on competition days and the general organisation of these days; such as helping with lorry parking, making sure riders had correct numbers, and other general duties as required.
