  • Company Overview: The Water City Festival supports creative entrepreneurial projects to maintain the regeneration of East London beyond the Olympics
  • I was appointed as a project manager by Lord Mawson to oversee the delivery of a number of high profile projects within tight deadlines
  • This includes the organisation and management of concerts, recordings, open weekends and exhibitions
  • Managed the booking of players and artists, and created orchestral lists and schedules
  • Supervision of all production management, preparation of all music parts and scores, and support of all marketing material
  • Co-wrote the writing of sponsorship applications and proposals for future projects in partnership with the Water City Festival
  • Project partners included the South Bank Centre, Imperial War Museum, HMS Belfast, The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Newham Academy and ExCel Centre

  • Due to previous experience in this field was recruited to manage a number of their more complex projects
  • Co-ordinating and managing the preparation of the Programmes weekly schedule for the artists and coaches which involved obtaining the artists own requests and repertory information for all opera disciplines
  • This included music, language, movement, acting and stage technique; as all artists take leading roles
  • This also included working regularly with leading international singers, directors and conductors
  • Liaised closely with the Artistic Director of the ‘Jette Parker Young Artists’ Programme to support the artistic development of professional singers, conductors, directors and repetiteurs at the start of their careers
  • Successfully ensured all artists had the correct score editions to support their performances; also wrote supporting programme notes for each performance
  • Managed the schedule throughout the week which included implementing any changes
  • In addition assisted with the day-to-day running of the department

  • Successful creation of the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s pioneering education and community programme which contributed to the successful sustainability of the Arts Council of England’s stabilisation funding
  • Managing, creating, developing and scheduling projects, events, workshops and training programmes (over 250 per year)
  • Assignments included the Schools and Family concerts/programmes; the creation of the ‘Foyle Future First’ apprenticeship scheme for post graduate performers; the development of the ‘Art Link’ Programme in conjunction with the Royal Academy of Arts; the formation of the professional development Training Academy for London Philharmonic Orchestra players; the development of relationships for performances at Guy’s and St Thomas’, the Evelina Children’s Hospital and hospices in and around London; and the re structuring and development of the special needs programme
  • Overseeing and management of the expansion of partnerships within formal and informal learning environments; this included working to create and design long term partnerships between schools, creative professionals, multi media developers and artists
  • These partnerships inspired young people, teachers and professionals to challenge how they work and to experiment with new ideas through creativity
  • Development and delivery of orchestral residencies associated with education and outreach audience development projects

  • Managed and contracted all consultants, workshop leaders, educators, players, artists, presenters, composers and conductors
  • Contributed to the artistic planning and programming of the overall department
  • Supported the Education and Community Director in the development and delivery of the overall pioneering education and community programme
  • Managed the London Philharmonic Youth Orchestra; this involved all scheduling of rehearsals, auditions and tours throughout the UK and Europe
  • I also contributed to all programming in conjunction with conductors and negotiated all tours and engagement fees
  • I was also the orchestra’s Music Librarian
  • Worked closely with the sponsorship and development department to secure sponsorship and trust fund income; also reported and evaluated projects to sustain funding (over 750K per year)
