Work History

EMEA Head of Sales

2XU
11.2023 - Current
  • Worked closely with the EMEA distributors to focus and expand the business.
  • Identified key areas of opportunity where we can build longterm, mutually profitable growth.
  • Improved EMEA efficiency from sales through to logistics, trade terms, brand and marketing.
  • Employed strategic planning and analysis to confidently advise CEO on innovative market expansion tactics.

Nike Category Sales Director Distributors and Nike

Nike
Amsterdam
06.2018 - 11.2023
  • Successfully managed the entire Nike East menswear business, alongside that of the Distributors in Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa.
  • Wrote strategies for 50+ different countries as director and manager. Adapted global Nike plan to be both consumer and geo relevant.
  • Led two teams simultaneously: a direct report team of ten Nike employees in East and an indirect team of 14 across the six partners.
  • Personally grew the menswear business 15% year on year in a sustainable way for the marketplace and its consumer. A big success was implementing a greener shipping method for our high-heat product, leading to a massive increase in consumer connection and furthering sneaker culture in the Middle East.
  • This complex part of the business consists of 62 countries and some 2000 retailers. All aspects of Nike business come together in this role: direct-to- consumer, value offense, partner-owned retail and wholesale.
  • Leader of the digital evolution for our Middle Eastern partners through the online-to-offline connected inventory project.
  • Responsible for hosting events across the globe as part of our go-to-market process.

Nike Strategic Account Executive JDG

Nike
Amsterdam
07.2015 - 06.2018
  • Lead the entire WMNS FTW business for this strategic account. This was across merchandising, sales, and planning.
  • Personally worked with an IT developer to create an Automated Construct Tool. This allowed for more accurate account merchandising, which led to better seasonal planning across the sizeable fleet of doors.
  • Stretched into the Senior Manager role, managing a team of four whilst maintaining the strategic sales role.
  • Revolutionised the GTM from a women's point of view, bringing more focus and change to a more challenging part of the business.
  • Created a weekly scorecard process which was adopted as best practice communication by multiple senior leadership teams.

Nike Digital Account Manager ASOS

Nike
London
11.2012 - 07.2015
  • Personally developed ASOS into a Nike focus account with a 900% revenue increase over two years. Achieved by challenging the Nike strategic plan and leading with lifestyle rather than performance — a tough but ultimately successful sell to the Nike EMEA SLT. I then worked with ASOS on how best to show Nike product, using their tone of voice and authentic models in place of Nike's typical athletes.
  • Played the role of manager, planner, merch and brand coordinator: extra roles included negotiating trade terms and executing the world's first shoppable Google Hangout.
  • Worked with an IT developer to create an automated order entry tool., which was rolled out across EMEA, and saved many hours of manual work.

Pre-Nike

Fred Perry and Folk
London
07.2006 - 11.2012
  • After graduating I started an internship at Folk Clothing, a small sales agency that had its own brand and was also the UK distributor for a number of other brands including Blueblood, Closed and Humanoid.
  • After five months I was offered a full-time position where I reported to the Head of Sales, working directly with our brands and retailers. It was an amazing way of learning how to work as a team, collaborate, and step into a space outside of the day-to-day role when needed.
  • Two years later I was offered a position at Fred Perry. The role entailed implementing a strategic segmented marketplace. After introducing and landing this plan, I was promoted to be responsible for Laurel Wreath sales. I grew the business for UK and internationally. Outside my role, I organised pop-up events, staff training, hiring of interns, and styled lookbooks.
  • I'd been at Fred four years when Nike headhunted me to come work on their digital business.

BEYOND THE JOB

Nike Sustainability Champion
I ran the EMEA sustainability team where I focused on the latest environmental innovations and how to implement them. I used this to create tangible trade terms with my Distributors so that together we can reduce our impact on the planet. The second element was how to inspire and educate the wider internal team. Events I have organised and hosted include a canal cleaning day, vegan cooking lessons, and a candle-making workshop.

Nike EMEA Sales SWAT Captain
SWAT team was a voluntary workstream that focused on improving the lives of the employee. I captained the sales function for EMEA, leading a team of over 30 people. Highlights include the app that I conceived, created, and launched. It looked at three elements: Welcome to Nike, Life at Nike and Career at Nike. I created and hosted an induction camp for the new starters in EMEA. I wanted to help them to fall in love with the brand and to be set up for success. Both highlights were recognised by Global as best practice.

SAYes Mentor
Feeling that I had capacity beyond my role, I wanted to spend time doing more for other people. I had extensive training from SAYes charity who runs a mentoring programme for young people in Johannesburg that focuses on building potential.
