Scrub Nurse
• Prepares instruments, supplies, equipment's, machines to be use in particular operation/procedures.
• Assists the surgeon during the operation from draping to handling the instruments and final care of the patient.
• Maintain sterility of the instruments and supplies of the operative field.
• Performs ager care of the operation room and the instruments.
• Preserves and labels specimen for laboratory exam and legal purpose correctly.
• Collaborates with the circulating nurse in the accurate counting of instruments, sponges and sharps.

Circulating Nurse
• Receive from holding/ward/room.
• Observe the progress of surgery, providing additional instruments, supplies and other items needed.
• Performs accurate counting of instruments, sponges, needles before start and ager closure of incision.
• Collaborates with the scrub nurse in the accurate counting of instruments, sponges and sharps.
• Makes a complete assessments and care of the patient recovery room.

• Provides nursing care for patient during peri operative period.
• Uses principles of aseptic technique when creating and maintaining sterile field.
• Operates mechanical, electrical and air powered equipment required for the following types of surgery, but not limited to General, Vascular, Neurological, Orthopedic, Dental and Urological.
• Performs swab, sharps and instrument counts as per departmental policy.
• Monitors and controls the O.R environment.
• Monitors the patient’s physiological status during the peri operative period.
• Provides equipment and supplies based on patient’s needs pre, intra and post operatively.
