I am a very experienced medical professional providing compassionate care to patients, families and communities. Meticulous in assessing, diagnosing and managing general health conditions. I am proactive in maintaining my clinical development to offer reliable, knowledgeable medical advice. I am a friendly and skilled person with a comprehensive background in general practice. Highly skilled at building trust and rapport with patients quickly to understand needs. Comfortable in high-pressure situations, making rapid and effective decisions. I work well in a multidisciplinary team and work hard to maintain relationships with colleagues and patients alike.
I am GP with nearly 30 years experience working in the NHS. Currently I am a partner in a large practice of 20,000 patients but from 2012, I was a single handed GP with a list of 4000 patients which I managed with a small clinical and admin team, and a highly experienced practice manager.
I was responsible for overall care provision to my patients and took sole responsibility for delivering the primary care contract for my cohort of patients. I had a successful practice, rated good with CQC with high QUOF achievment, but the practice had to close in July as our landlord evicted me from the property I was in, and I took the decision to merge my list with a large local practice.
Prior to this I have worked in various general practice settings gaining experience in different working environments but took the opportunity to take over a local practice and call it my own.
I feel that the fact that I ran a practice of this size successfully and for so long as a sole GP is testament to the skills that I possess. I am now looking for new challenges and I would welcome the opportunity to discuss any opportunities further.
