• I have always been an active person, enjoying long walks with the dogs, having a passion for nature and the outdoors, but, my biggest passion are horses, learning to ride when I was 5, showjumping and cross country from age 11.
• I enjoy reading when I have free time in the evenings. Over the last couple of years I have found gardening quite therapeutic and has turned into a little bit of a hobby for me, growing and nurturing plants.
• I have just recently started yoga for relaxation, health and well-being.
• I have rescued and rehabilitated horses in my spare time for the last 10 years and currently have 6 of my own horses.

In 2012-2014, I was honored to be asked by my town to represent them as Equerry, then Ensign for the Riding of the Marches, completing many Common rides and attending Balls and official engagements from Edinburgh down to and around the Borders.

My full name is Marcus, although I've been called Marc all my life. I am originally from Edinburgh but moved to South Lanarkshire in 2018. I have 2 adult children.

I have a thirst for knowledge and spent 9 years at University studying business management, psychology and a masters in renewable energy. I still enjoy researching and learning new things today.

I have many years of experience in the hospitality/catering industry, as well as having my own Catering business,  my family had a restaurant and public house when I was growing up, training in the kitchen from 12. My hospitality experience ranges from silver service to catering functions for all types of parties and venues including weddings, funerals, birthdays, etc.

I worked as a relief manager for a brewery, before and during my university studies as I was a single parent for 15 years and had to work while studying. 

Once I graduated with a Business Degree, I worked as a business development manager, helping businesses with growth and development in the current climate. Troubleshooting and problem solving to project management, restructuring, and recruitment to competition strategies for promoting and marketing their brand.
