If there's one thing I've learned over the years, it's that no two days are ever the same—especially when your office ranges from a busy workshop to someone's living room (usually with a curious dog supervising). And truth be told, I wouldn't have it any other way.
Throughout my varied career, I've built up a toolkit that's as diverse as the jobs I've taken on—hands-on technical know-how, quick thinking under pressure, and the ability to have a laugh while still getting things done right. I'm the type of person who communicates clearly and confidently, whether I'm explaining a fault to a customer or syncing up with the team on-site. I believe in straight-talking that's respectful, professional, and—when the moment calls for it—a little light-heartedness.
People often tell me I'm easy to get along with (unless they've just spilled tea on my tools), and I take pride in building strong rapport with customers, colleagues, and management alike. I don't shy away from tough decisions, and I'm always up for a new challenge—even if it means crawling under a floorboard or learning a new skill from scratch.
In short, I bring professionalism with personality, and I'd be excited to bring that energy to your team. I'd love the chance to discuss how I can contribute, ideally over a coffee—but I'm happy with tea too.
Talented Field Engineer demonstrates outstanding technical ability with exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Attends requests in courteous and customer-focused fashion.
As a field engineer for Virgin Media, I installed broadband, TV, and telephone services in customers' homes and small businesses, making sure everything was up and running smoothly. The role was really hands-on and customer-focused, I liked being out and about solving problems on the spot whilst having clear and constant communication to other team members and management. While in the role, I gained my NSWRA, different fibre network builds inlcuding XGSPON, FTTO and FTTP, which really helped me build up my technical knowledge and stay up to date with the latest in broadband infrastructure.
I worked on and off for a commercial vehicle company run by my neighbour at the time, stepping in when needed. Thanks to the flexibility of my zero-hour contract at JR and the trust I had with management there, I was able to balance both roles comfortably. This job was my first proper experience working on vehicles over 3.5 tonnes, which was a new and exciting challenge compared to the light vehicle work I was used to. It gave me the chance to build my knowledge of commercial vehicles and experience a different side of the trade. Having a close working relationship with the manager—who was also my neighbour—added a new dynamic and made the work feel even more hands-on and personal.
Working as a driver/porter for a removal company was a physical but rewarding job. I spent my days helping people move homes or offices, loading and unloading vans, and making sure everything got from A to B safely and on time. It taught me a lot about working under pressure, staying organised, and being friendly and professional with customers during what can be a stressful time for them.
Working at the world's biggest car dealership was a great experience – fast-paced, full of variety, and a great place to learn. I got to work with a huge range of vehicles and customers every day, picking up valuable skills in both the technical side of things. It really helped me understand how a large-scale operation runs smoothly and showed me the importance of teamwork and clear communication between customers, managment and colleagues.
s a motor trade apprentice, I worked alongside experienced technicians, learning the ins and outs of vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repair. The role gave me a solid foundation in both mechanical and electrical systems, while also teaching me the importance of attention to detail, teamwork, and delivering great customer service. It was a hands-on, fast-paced environment that helped build my confidence and technical skills from the ground up.
