Additional Information

I currently take lead in the management of both obstetric and consultant midwifery debrief referrals across site. Initially, this entailed 20% of my total workload but has now increased by up to 50%. This is a complex role requiring meticulous attention to detail at every stage, Each case is highly sensitive and individual and needs to be treated with the utmost empathy. It involves the compilation and coordination of post mortem, genetics and histology reports and liaising with perinatal pathologists at several NHS trusts ensuring the availability of results in a timely manner ahead of the scheduled debrief meetings. I have very much appreciated the opportunity to facilitate this task from scratch and have made several improvements during my time in post i.e. attending the Sage and Thyme course which broadened my knowledge and helped improve on essential skills when dealing with sensitive cases and bereavements. I am also a mental health advocate which has proved to be invaluable both in a personal nature and in my current role I have found it rewarding and am proud to be part of a team offering our patients continued support throughout their care. .

I am passionate about achieving tasks and objectives and have high personal standards using my initiative to develop effective solutions to problems. I am confident, reliable and dependable and always work towards a calming influence. I have adopted methodical and rigorous approaches to ensure that communications are open and honest encouraging strong working relationships that are positive for the team members and the organisation as a whole. I am a good listener who is caring and compassionate where needed but am also resilient and thorough when the situation requires.
