Passionate about social justice and community support, I’ve built a career blending research, advocacy, and hands-on work. With a first-class degree in Criminology and a master’s in Environment and Social Justice, I focus on creating inclusive spaces and amplifying underrepresented voices.
I support Kyra’s team by enrolling new members, coordinating activities, and ensuring a welcoming, supportive environment for all women. I’ve received safeguarding, suicide prevention training, and am a certified Mental Health First Aider.
I also contribute to procedure documents to improve operations, and participate in community events like the Dragon Boat Race and International Women’s Day.
At the Ghost Signs project, I researched and documented over 100 historic advertising signs in York through extensive archival work. I created a website to showcase the signs and their stories, making this heritage accessible to the public.
The project recieved significant media attention, leading to interviews -including one with the BBC. I also contributed to writing academic journal articles, ensuring the project’s findings were shared with the academic community.
I co-coordinated impactful projects like the Burns Potluck, raising awareness about the cost of living crisis and student food access, and Doing Change, celebrating student-led social justice initiatives in York.
I also managed the ISJ blog, interviewing and writing posts about groups like Menfulness. Additionally, I produced and hosted the "Student Sustainability Stories" podcast, exploring student sustainability initiatives on campus.
