Mahnoor Shahid

I’ve previously worked at Spring ASC, which has since been acquired by Junior Adventures Group, and have been employed for two years , working during the summer holidays alongside my studies. During my time there, I obtained an enhanced DBS check and significantly improved skills such as teamwork, responsibility and building positive relationships with both staff and children. Working in this environment taught me the importance of creating a safe, welcoming and engaging environment where children can learn and explore. As well as this, by organising different themed activities such as circus and science themed weeks I’ve been able to express creative liberties and take initiative whilst planning activities which encouraged curiosity. I am eager to return and continue evolving and developing these skills in such supportive and engaging workplaces where the importance of reliability as well as being approachable and adaptable are so highly valued.

I volunteered to help clean the River Thames, which strengthened my sense of responsibility, teamwork and commitment to making positive contribution with communities. These are values which I strive to demonstrate in every role I take on.

I have previously completed work experience at Hyde Park Learning Centre, where I helped run free nature based activities for children and their families. This role highlighted the importance of effective communication and teamwork to ensure activites ran smoothly, timetables were followed, instructions were communicated clearly and so children were supervised safely at all times. As well as this I got to experience first hand a range of scientific knowledge about nature through activities such as observing different species of plants and insects through electron microscopes I believe this experience has equipped me with the skills and confidence to make even more positive contributions to workplace environments.
