During my time at Sheldons Pharmacy, i gained valuable insight into community pharmacy practice whilst supporting pharmacists with daily operations. I gained valuable experience and developed six key skills.

  • Customer Service - Assisted customers with purchases and inquiries at pharmacy counter, processing card and cash payments, addressing general enquiries, and directing customers under supervision to enhance service experience.
  • Communication Skills - Communicated effectively with patients and pharmacy staff, confirming patient details (such as name, date of birth, and address where required) before handing over prepared prescriptions under supervision.
  • Attention to Detail - Checked medicine expiry dates, identified stock approaching expiry, and helped to maintain high safety and quality standards.
  • Organisation & Stock Management - Organised medication and sorted prescriptions alphabetically, prepared medication bags for collection and delivery, restocked shelves, and verified stock deliveries against order sheets to ensure accuracy and availability.
  • Teamwork - Worked collaboratively with pharmacists and dispensers to support the smooth running of the pharmacy.
  • Professionalism & Confidentiality - Followed pharmacy procedures, maintained patient confidentiality and integrity, and upheld professional and ethical standards to ensure compliance and trust.
