Madeleine Baker

I am a hardworking, enthusiastic individual. A confident communicator, I have enjoyed working in a range of service roles. My various school responsibilities, such as Head of House, 1st X lacrosse Captain and Pastoral Senior Prefect, highlight my organised and caring nature. I perform well in a team and have represented the 1st teams for Netball, Lacrosse and Tennis. I am taking a gap year to broaden my work experience and travel, after which I will be attending Durham University to study Business Management.

• Gold Duke of Edinburgh, I developed my problem-solving skills through physical and mental challenges.

• Fundraising for Samaritans, Part of a team that successfully raised £31,870 by completing the Three Peaks Challenge in 24 hours, displaying resilience, teamwork and commitment.

• Willen Hospice, While volunteering, I helped children with cerebral palsy build cognitive function and core muscle strength in an inclusive space through teaching them to horse ride. I also created and maintained detailed financial spreadsheets to track sales and donations for the charity.

• SchoolAid Charity, Working in equipment warehouses and fundraising to contribute to supporting disadvantaged children with education.
