After the pandemic restrictions had been lifted a member of my arts centre community centre created an event for children and families who had lost family over the pandemic- I volunteered my time to help with this and help with the children, I took care of babies to toddlers (all people who attended this event had to be covid tested and had there vaccinations by providing a picture or showing the vaccination card to ensure safety.)

Volunteer work

Since I was sixteen each Christmas, I run a charity events raising money for a different charity each year, to name a few we raised money for cancer research, salvation army and local homeless shelters residing in my hometown. I oversaw the advertising on social media, making products, organizing and handling money., After the pandemic had its restrictions lifted there was a locally organised bereavement camp for teens (aged between 11-16) With my previous volunteer experience, I joined the small group and helped with duties that included counselling/ supporting, making care plans to help the teens sort a routine with hygiene and eating, leading groups in activities to help with socialising and friendships within the group., I organised and held a small craft club for victims of rape and sexual assault, the clubs goal was to help with socialising and having a comfortable space to talk and learn a new craft., Volunteered at Light House, where I was teaching arts and crafts, other duties included basic first aid, taking care of children aged from 4-11, support a small group of special needs children with day-to-day activities as well as assisting in helping any of them eat and participating in group activities- I was invited back for the next year to lead groups and teach more classes to children and to help teach new volunteers how to assist the special needs children., While starting my foundation year part time I also took on the responsibility of taking care of a family friend with BPSD (behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia) after organising a care plan, duties included daily hygiene, emotional support and handling any emotional outbursts, light exercise, food intake/ hydration and general wellbeing., Volunteered at a small summer school in south Wales for special needs children aged between 9 and 14, duties included leading small groups to do activities, sport activities, arts and crafts, music and gardening.
