I have always loved animals and so I decided to volunteer at the Atherton Dog

• Centre assisting in the care of the dogs by taking them for regular walks and ensuring they were fed on time.
• I helped to clean the kennels and ensured that the dogs were receiving the highest standard of care and attention at all times.

Initially this was a placement set up by Wigan & Leigh college, I started behind the scenes working doing manual work in the stockroom organizing and dealing with stock replenishment, shelf stacking and adhering to strict health and safety guidelines. After a few months I was promoted to a Sales Adviser position, my main responsibilities were as follows:

• Delivering excellent customer service at all times
• Always happy to help a customer with any request or query
• Ensuring that the till area was always kept neat and tidy
• Operative and Sales Adviser

This was a work placement I completed through my school.
Primarily, I worked within the warehouse but I was happy to help
on the main store floor when needed. My duties involved:

• Stocking shelves on the main store floor
• Assisting customers with their requests when necessary
• Unloaded deliveries
• Rotated old and new stock within the warehouse
• Ensured stock levels were always accurately tracked

On completion of this placement I received an excellent report from
my supervisor which highlighted my eagerness and hard work
