I am a hard working person who has achieved lots of things in life. When i complete something to the best of my ability, i feel very proud of myself. I sometimes struggle with things due to my dyspraxia ( DCD) and may need extra support with these things. I am also slightly Autistic which means i struggle to interact with other people. These challenges that i have does not stop me from being the person i am. I also have short term memory issues.
As part of my work experience at secondary school i had to choose a place to do 1 weeks worth of work experience and this place was Hinlip police station in Worcester. During the week i worked in the stores department. On the Monday this consisted of a main uniform delivery day which meant that i had to check off 120 totes of uniform to make sure all of it was correct and then it was shipped off to the other stations. Before this they talked to me about the health and safety procedures of the work place and also a tour of the building so i knew where everything was. I helped the team in the stores with the process with the uniform check and i listened well to the instructions that were asked of me and i also checked my understanding was correct.
On the Tuesday morning i went into the dog section and this consisted of with the helping with the kennel cleaning, food preparation for the dogs and various admin rules. I also had a power imput along with another visitor dog section and also the role that officers play with the dogs as well. I asked questions if i was not sure what to do in each bit and once i was told what to do i was very confident on what the procedure was with each task. I also asked questions about the dogs and the dog section as a whole.
