My role was to convert leads in the form of clients looking to organise their Stag and Hen parties, Golf Trips and Corporate events. This would be a combination of over the phone, email and also use of live chat. Business development and procurement was also very important.
I was the top performing salesman at the company for 13 straight years, breaking records and setting new ones consistently. I was also in charge of a small sales team.
I was the only sales executive at a small publishing company, primarily selling advertising space in a book, and also online. This was mainly through cold-calling businesses, so was important to develop and maintain a good rapport. Would say this was an incredibly tough market (publishing at the time was on its way out) but really helped shape my sales skills especially as the company relied on me being the only salesman.
