After completing my GCSEs in 2019, I continued my education at St Brendan’s Sixth Form College before progressing to the University of the West of England, where I successfully completed a degree in Paramedic Science. Prior to this, I also undertook a year of Biomedical Science, which strengthened my understanding of human biology, clinical principles, and critical analysis. Alongside my studies, I gained valuable work experience in both retail and healthcare settings. I worked as a Customer Service Assistant and later as a Supervisor at Sainsbury’s, where I developed strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills in a fast-paced environment, as well as a deep appreciation.

WORK EXPERIENCE PLACEMENT:

  • Headway Bristol (Brain Injury Association Ltd), Charity, Work Experience Placement, Frenchay, Bristol, 2018-07, Spent one week in a charity supporting adult brain injury survivors – both within the Rehabilitation & Wellbeing Centre and in the back office, undertaking routine, computer and reception duties for the fundraising and administration teams., Observed and supported staff leading on group and 1:1 activities to include arts and crafts, games and various activities during the week and gained an understanding of the difficulties and challenges facing those who have been affected by brain injury, stroke and/or dementia., Helped with preparations for a charity Family Fun Day which included designing posters and signs, price lists, mailing out and distributing flyers locally and helping to pack up equipment for the event.
  • Responder during the COVID 19 Pandemic, 2020-08, 2022, During the COVID outbreak, I really wanted to make a difference in the community so I joined the responder program, allowing me to take medications and essential shopping to shielding members of the community.
