Independent travelling with friends in South America, which gave me a great chance to hone my Spanish skills.

• I worked processing customer orders and complaints in this fast-paced outdoor sports retailer to fund a trip travelling in Argentina, Chile and Bolivia.
• The role at LD Mountain Centre was very customer focused and the business was having significant teething issues with its back-end inventory system.
• I both worked on delivering on customer fulfilment and also logging and making recommendations for process improvements to deliver a better service.

• The Challenge engaged students from across the globe and provided the opportunity to identify potential solutions for local organisations in the Calgary community that have an impact globally.
• I was proud to work in an international team from the UK, Canada, Australia, Italy and Mexico to deliver a project for Immigrant Services Calgary, which provides a wide range of settlement services to immigrants and refugees.
• I also undertook classes in enterprise education at Calgary and we were delighted to finish runners up out of 24 teams in terms of the project which made the most impact.

• I interned with high growth sports tech start-up AI Abacus, which has been set up by track record founders in the field (Prozone, Apollo MIS) to provide data driven insights for better decision making in the football transfer market and on the pitch.
• I gained access to their data lake to model predictive statistics, specifically focussed on player chemistry and defensive attributes. The company’s early clients include clubs in the EPL, EFL and Bundesliga.

• I interned in the venture debt team at Virgin Money, which funds high growth, venture capital and angel backed technology businesses.
• I met entrepreneurial software businesses, joined business development meetings with venture capital and private equity firms and attend a PwC Scale event where 10 tech start-ups pitched their businesses.
• These experiences have given me a real interest in start-up culture and new venture creation

• I spent a week working in the personal tax department of the Newcastle EY office.
• As one of a handful of students nationally to take part, I got the opportunity to gain hands-on work experience as well as benefit from business skills sessions, working closely with recent graduates and associates.
• It gave me a real opportunity to see what it would be like to work in one of the largest UK offices of this global Big 4 accountancy firm.
