  • Within my role, I've had the opportunity to shadow other departments, such as the Criminal Financial Investigation team. Learning their roles and responsibilities. The most notable team was the Immigration Compliance and Enforcement team, whom I shadowed while they conducted their daily tasks.
  • I am currently a Fire Warden and assist in maintaining the safety of my place of work, while also helping those in need.
  • I conduct Watchlist checks and liaise with the National Crime Agency to assess applications that may be an international threat.
  • I am fully aware of the General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018, as well as the importance of these regulations, including the risk of data leaks and the need to keep sensitive information secure.

  • Working pre and post COVID-19 pandemic, which brought many mental and physical challenges, I risked my own health to uphold my legal duty of care to prisoners while also supporting my colleagues. Helping to maintain the security of the establishment as well as the safety of the public.
  • Being trained in how to operate in numerous scenarios, such as self-defence, control and restraint, fire safety training, how to communicate effectively, and more. The training helped me further develop my skills and adapt to various scenarios, which were often high-stress situations where I had to work as part of a team.
  • I challenged the conduct and behaviour of numerous prisoners and staff members, according to my training, and was able to deal with them effectively.
  • This role helped me to better myself in using computer systems for administrative tasks, and build my confidence in doing so.
  • Building rapport with prisoners to help rehabilitate and create a positive environment while remaining professional and keeping to the rules and regulations of the establishment.
  • I helped to train new staff and guide them into their new roles, giving them the knowledge required to stay safe and work effectively as part of the team.
