- I have been working as a trust grade Registrar at Dorset County Hospital since September 2023.
- This has been a very exciting experience as it has widened my perception into embarking a more senior role and what it involves.
- It has also helped me develop an extreme wide variety of clinical skills.
- My main responsibilities include:
- -attending unwell patients in resus
- -managing the Emergency Department as the most senior clinician over night
- -discussing and reviewing patients and management plan with other team members (SHOS, ANPS, ACPs)
- -leading cardiac arrests and/or trauma calls
- -Provide regular teaching to resident doctors
- -being involved in Clinical governance and quality improvement projects
- This has been a very rewarding post that I held for almost 3 years now as I have learned an incredible amount, I have hugely grown both personally and professionally into a more confident and competent person who is able to lead a team through some of the busiest shift we have had focusing on safety for both patients and staff.
