A dedicated and compassionate primary school teacher with recent experience teaching Year 1 in a mainstream classroom, where I have successfully supported children with a wide range of needs, including Autism and SEMH difficulties. I have developed and implemented targeted strategies to help these learners thrive, focusing on building strong, trusting relationships and creating an inclusive, nurturing environment. My adaptable teaching style, patient approach, and commitment to meeting individual needs make me well-suited to a specialist SEND tutoring role.
Over the five years I worked at Salcombe Preparatory School, I taught a range of subjects across Year 1, Year 3, and Year 4, adapting lessons to meet the needs of diverse students. I was responsible for their academic progress, as well as their emotional and social well-being. I tracked student progress, provided tailored support, and collaborated with SEN staff. My role included fostering a positive classroom environment, developing students' personal and social skills, and ensuring all students felt confident and supported in their learning.
As a supply teacher, I worked across a variety of schools, teaching different year groups and subjects. I quickly adapted to new environments and tailored my teaching approach to meet the needs of diverse classrooms.
