I work closely with Consultant Orthodontists and Specialist Orthodontists and patients in a busy hospital environment.

Our patients are more complex and often need a multidisciplinary approach, we work closely with the Maxillofacial and Restorative Teams. I am a trusted part of the team, some of my duties include:

• Improving clients' oral health through targeted hygiene advice.
• Collecting intra and extra-oral photographs for detailed diagnostics.
• Maintaining accurate medical and dental records by documenting important patient data.
• Educating patients on importance of oral hygiene and demonstrated techniques for flossing and brushing.
• Engaging with children and anxious patients using calm and friendly manner.
• Explaining Orthodontic procedures and reassuring patients ahead of treatment.
• Keep accurate dental records and uphold patient confidentiality.

• Provide chair-side assistance , to Orthodontists, Oral Surgeons and Restorative Consultant, ensuring equipment and materials are available to support a full range of treatments
• Provide patients with postoperative information and instructions, post bond up and post extractions
• Manage clinics to optimise surgery time whilst supporting clinicians to have sufficient breaks
• Sanitised touch points to uphold strict COVID-19 hygiene requirements and enable ongoing surgery operations during lockdown
• Deliver effective dental hygiene advice for patients
• Built rapport with patients to create sense of ease and calm during complex procedures, including assisting with Bond ups and wisdom teeth extraction
• Assisting the clinician with dental and medical emergencies
• Carry out HSE checks and coordinated decontamination processes, preparing materials for dental procedures.

I worked as part of an Out of hours emergency team, triaging and nursing for patients who were unable to access help.

• Built rapport with patients to create sense of ease and calm during complex procedures, including assisting with pulp extirpations and extractions
• Provided chair-side assistance for 2 surgeries, including cleaning and collection of X-rays to support emergency treatments
• Carried our HSE checks and coordinated decontamination processes
• Assisted the dentist with dental and medical emergencies
• Logged and recorded patient treatment information ensuring accurate records
• Provided patients with postoperative information and instructions
• Ran the emergency appointment booking process, assisting dentists with triage and treatment.

• Assisted Reception staff with patient booking and front desk management
• Built rapport with patients to create sense of ease and calm during complex procedures, including assisting with RCT, Extractions and Crown preps
• Provided chair-side assistance for 5 surgeries, including cleaning and collection of X-rays and impressions to support range of treatments
• Assisted the dentist with emergencies
• Carried our HSE checks and coordinated decontamination processes to prepare materials for dental procedures.
