Social Media Specialist

I returned to the UK in May 2023, keen to hit the ground running I accepted a job as a Social Media Specialist with the7stars. My role here centres around deep diving, testing and elevating my clients’ social media strategies to ensure we’re always scrutinising the digital landscape and staying ahead of the curve. I have had the pleasure of working across a host of clients including TSB, Capital One, Prostate Cancer UK, Associated British Foods, Pizza Express and South Western Railway. The variation of work afforded by my agency experience has allowed me to fine-tune a host of skills and build on my digital media experience, examples of this include:

  • Planning and delivering workshops which deep dive into learnings, insights and trends to inspire the highest quality content that aligns with platform best practice.
  • Writing and presenting Quarterly Business Reviews alongside my team, particularly relating to social media results and learnings as a part of clients’ broader business goals.
  • Planning, interrogating and elevating clients’ ambitions within the social media landscape, using media analytics platforms such as
  • Helping to design tests and interpret large data sets to ensure we are constantly developing and innovating campaigns where we can.

Client Coordinator

What started as an internship evolved into a full time position as Client Coordinator with Wavemaker, a media agency that operates based on constant innovation and understanding that growth models of the past will not serve the future. During my time here I have assumed great responsibility in booking, implementing, monitoring and reporting for state-wide and national campaigns for Government and Commercial clients such as San Remo, Mitsubishi, Bridgestone and Journey Beyond. My responsibilities entail but are not limited to:

  • Implementing paid digital and social campaigns in line with budgets and target demographics on social platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, Snapchat and TikTok, often on tight deadlines.
  • Implementing and trafficking digital trackers, pixels and tags for adverts online primarily through Sizmek, which allow me to track reach and engagement and make necessary adjustments and optimisations based on these real-time results.
  • Booking television, CVOD, radio and press in such a way that ads appear in the right context for the brand and target demographics.
  • Using social analytics tools such as Sprout Social and Emplifi to deep dive into campaign metrics and optimise where necessary, constantly keeping a finger on the pulse of trends and consumer responses.
  • Interpreting Results and Reporting, during and at the end of a campaign using primarily Salesforce, PowerPoint or Google applications. These reports require that I translate post campaign data into consumable concepts and recommendations, which I present to clients.
  • Maintain reliable and positive client relationships and connections across the media industry to deliver ambitious results seamlessly.
  • Managing organic social media and influencer partnerships on behalf of one of our office’s biggest clients to which I bring a honed digital lens.
  • SEM implementation and reporting, requiring the management of large budgets and data sets.

International Registration Officer

The Nursing and Midwifery Council UK (NMC) is the independent regulator of nurses and midwives in the UK. I worked in the International Registrations Department, which was focused on recruiting overseas nurses to work in the UK. My position here entailed the following key objectives:

  • Cutting down response times. To address this, I established a digital filing system. Categorising queries meant each team member could focus on a specific area and provide comprehensive and quicker responses. It also meant time sensitive queries could be prioritised.
  • Reduce application evaluation times. I would evaluate over 50 applications a day and was very confident in this area of the role. I made myself a point of contact for any queries relating to the evaluation stage of the application, so as to prevent unnecessary delays. We reduced evaluation time from 14 days to 1 day.
  • Presenting statistics- particularly those relating to overseas applications to register to work in the UK- in team and departmental meetings, these figures allowed us to make projections regarding filling gaps in the frontline workforce during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Speak Up is a charitable organisation that provides free English lessons to migrant parents in Manchester. My position as project leader involved but was not limited to:

  • Teaching and recording progress Attention to detail, creativity and innovation was required in this role to provide effective and impactful means of teaching.
  • Recruiting a new group of volunteers and procuring a group of beneficiaries which entailed sensitive market research, optimising appropriate reach channels and liaising with different groups and stakeholders.
