Lucy-Ann Murphy

I did the course for around six months before I realised A levels weren't for me. The location was quite far from my house. I caught 2 buses each day there and back, but I still stuck to it. During this time I studied sociology, psychology and criminology. Even though I didn't fully complete the year here, I still developed on my communication skills, became more resilient and adhered to various deadlines. Studying here included many acts of team work, which I also enjoyed. Presentations were often required too, and this has helped me to become more confident as a person.

I worked at my dads roofing company, helping out filing and answering the phone.

I also uploaded photos and content to various social media platforms to advertise the work. I enjoyed my time here it gave me an understanding of working life.

This was a short term job while I was waiting for my new college course to start. I worked here for 8 weeks

I attuned Dudley College and undertook animal Biology level 3 BTEC. I completed the course and gain a merit certificate.

While I was there I undertook 150 hrs of work experience at 2 local animal centres. My role was to look after varies species of animals, feeding them and cleaning their habitat. I also helped deal with paying customers by showing them the way around and discussing the types of animals. A lot of young attended from ages 5-10. I really enjoyed engaging with them and developed holistic activities involving animals for them to learn.

It was a good experience seeing the children enjoying themselves with animals they rarely see
