Summary

Having worked in remote parts of the planet in a variety of roles, I wish to continue to develop my skills both clinically and in wider disciplines. I would like to apply my technical skillsets to dynamic and multidisciplinary projects in a variety of fields, wherever I can be of use. Expedition Team Member, various roles

Experience in a variety of expedition team roles, from general assistant to photographer. Medic and Leader in different remote and challenging environments around the world and in the UK. These different expeditions have taught me skills in planning and leading as well as interpersonal soft skills and technical remote environment medical and survival skills.

Expedition Photographer experience
Confident use of Canon, Olympus, and remote camera trap systems in difficult environments. Flown a variety of DJI drones.

Army Reserve Officer

Having been in the British Army Reserve since September 2024 as a soldier, in July 2025 I commissioned as a British Army Logistics Officer in the Army Reserve.


My current role has me in charge of Recruitment, Retention and Mentorship while I conduct further training to lead logistics operations anywhere in the world. This includes management of vehicles, personnel and equipment, including high-value and complex operations in fast paced environments.

Photojournalist

Published multiple written articles in news and NGO outlets on various topics including; geopolitics, conservation and humanitarian issues. I have also supported other journalists with photographic content in both low-profile and overt work on top of my photographic work. Further to this, I have produced multiple podcasts and co-hosted the podcast Medicine on the Frontier. All my work is available on my website lucwoodallgillard.com.

Marine contruction and diving

After qualifying as an HSE Diver, I joined a marine construction and diving contractor working on various civil engineering projects as part of the surface support team. This includes construction work, plant operation, and maintenance, especially for outboard engines. Operating in various multi-disciplinary teams in all weather conditions.

Having started with London Search and Rescue in 2019, I have trained in multiple disciplines including; foot search, bike search, medic and Swift Water Rescue.

I held several appointments within the organisation including; West London Bike Lead (06/2020-05/2021), West London Deputy Area Lead (04/2021-05/2021) and West London Area Lead (05/2021-09/2022).

Due to leaving London, I resigned from London Search and Rescue in 2023.
