  • At the Young Professional Black Leaders of the Future insight day, big companies gave us insights on careers such as finance, law and the medical field
  • This event was for Year 12s and 13s.
  • Here I was mainly looking for people in finance and I learnt about how people in the Finance Industry worked but I mainly learnt about how Financial Analysts did their jobs.
  • The people from these companies showed us what skills would be beneficial in this field of finance such as critical thinking, management and problem solving.

Fantasy Wings Programme

  • At the Fantasy Wing Programme, we had online and in person sessions where we were given an insight of the airline industry by pilots, flight attendants and engineers for airlines such as British Airways and EasyJet.
  • For example, we were given intuition on how to serve customers at the check-in desks which taught us how to interact with customers and make swift decisions to overcome issues.
  • This evidently shows where I have picked up skills such as teamwork, working under a tense environment, problem solving and independence.
