As well as carrying out regular training to support with career progression, becoming the Assistant Head of English has introduced responsibilities including those at Bulwell Academy plus;
- Leading the teaching and planning for KS3 (curriculum)
-Leading faculty/team meetings
-Planning extra-curricular activities for key occasions such as World Book Day
- Creating a new SOL based on the Fresh Start programme for AL Groups
- Carrying out well-being/review meetings
- Adapting the SOL and working on Curriculum Maps

This position entailed teaching a large class of Adults speaking different languages as their first language such as Spanish , Italian , Iranian , Polish , Arabic & Portuguese. Planning differentiated lessons using a variety of techniques linked to the marking and speaking and listening assessments of students was a key part of this role.
This job included supporting eight adults with very varied, complex disabilities living independently to carry out their daily activities e.g. making their dinner or doing their food shopping.

The job role also included managing the service, planning appointments ,checking finances,dispensing medication, using a radio system,writing reports,having daily discussions with care managers,discussions with parents and attending career training such as First Aid courses and Fire Safety.
