I was responsible for looking after all HR within the school of about 120 staff, along with all volunteers, work experience and governors. I would ensure that all DBS checks were up to date, deal with all recruitment, book training and ensure it was kept up to date, make any adjustments to contracts, keep track of absences, making sure all employee records are kept up to date, carrying out risk assessments on employees, day to day HR tasks and any disciplinaries that needed to happen. I would also ensure that all staff members pay was correct on a monthly basis and ready for the payroll run. Being in a school, I would also help with any events that happened, like school fayres, discos or day trips.
As a Senior Administration Assistant, I would take responsibility for all day trips/visits and residentials within the school. This involved liaising with outside organisations to obtain pricing and also bookings. I would also need to ensure that I had all the correct information about the students. I would also oversee all student medical healthcare plans, afterschool clubs,
In Voyager Club, I would work in our breakfast club with the children before school. This would involve setting up activities for the children and ensuring that they were engaged. We would also need to deal with any safeguarding issues that arose during the morning, using the schools safeguarding policy. We would also served the children a snack when they arrived.
In this role, I worked in reception and the main role was answering the telephone, seeing in any parents/children, ensuring the registers were completed in a timely manner for safeguarding purposes, first aid duties, stock taking and ensure that any issues that happened during the day were dealt with in a quick and appropriate way.
As an MDSA, I would be in the lunch hall while the children had their lunch at school. I would need to ensure that they were all happy and safe while eating their lunches. There were times when I would need to encourage them to eat. There were also cleaning duties involved with this role.
At Samuelson's I worked from home and was responsible for overseeing the administration email box. I would ensure that all customer email for responded to in a timely manner and forwarded onto the correct department, if I could not help them myself.
I was asked back for a short contract. I was responsible for looking after purchasing and the administration of of installations. I would also ensure that all paperwork was up to date.
