I enjoy working with people face to face, I have excellent communication skills and enjoy learning about people and their interests.
I have always prided myself in my professionalism and high values. I prefer to solve an issue rather walk past it.
I am a team player and my management style is to roll up my sleeves and assist, without micromanaging and taking over the task. I can and will delegate tasks when appropriate.
I have managed teams and worked with customers for most of my careers.
I value the opportunities that my careers have afforded me and would be grateful and privileged if I was to be successfully employed HRP as a Yeoman Warder.
I have been fortunate to work in some incredible positions and locations throughout my career.
I have served operationally in Northern Ireland, Iraq, Afghanistan and Cyprus.
I have worked as the Visiting Warrant Officer at 4th Infantry Brigade Catterick, advising units on policy and technical aspects of our trade and conducting annual assurance visits to 12 Units (and pre assessment visits yearly).
The Executive Warrant Officer in CGS/DCGS and Brigadier Army Staff Department in Andover.
Regimental Warrant Officer with the Queens’ Royal Lancers in Catterick.
Responsible for Public Funds and management of the Finance Team at the Army Foundation College Harrogate.
PA to the Military Advisory to the UK Mission to the UN in New York.
Various SNCO and JNCO roles with management responsibilities with both military and civilian teams.
I was also extremely fortunate to be able to represent our Country and Armed Forces during a 3 month exchange with the Australian Army. Working with an Educator, responsible for ensuring personnel were prepared for their promotion courses and they were suitable qualified before loading them onto the relevant promotion courses.
Senior Soldier of the SPS Branch. Responsible for ensuring communication within the Branch was improved and modernised due to increased opportunities to use social media and digital communication.
I was responsible for briefing new soldiers and officers who had joined the Branch, ensuring that they understood the Branch Ethos and opportunities that the Branch offers our people (careers, sporting and adventure training opportunities). I also briefed promotion course on our Ethos, Leadership and Values & Standards. I pride myself in holding the highest of values and standards and believe that the Senior Soldier position is the Bastion of V&S.
I was the voice of our soldiers, responsible for back briefing the Colonel and Head of Profession (1*) with any issues, concerns and positive feedback as well as acting as their representative when briefing our soldiers with updates.
I was responsible for organising two Regimental dinners and Seminars per year, due to the pandemic these were held virtually and improved our reach.
During my tenure I introduced peer forums/support groups for our soldiers (Juniors, Seniors and Warrant Officers) so they have safe spaces to collaborate and support each other, without feeling that they are “asking a silly question” or bothering their Chain of Command.
