On Saturdays, I worked in a flooring shop and managed day to day duties. Some of the tasks I managed were:

• Handled queries regarding products, providing detailed information as necessary.
• Updated window displays regularly for fresh store appeal.
• Greeted every customer warmly, promoting friendly atmosphere.
• Improved product visibility with strategic shelf arrangements.

For a month, I covered in a business I had previously worked in as the warehouse operator as they had lost their employee due to holiday. I was tasked with maintaining and running both the warehouse and stock system, specific tasks included:

• Assisting in inventory management, ensuring accurate records were kept.
• Unloading lorries to facilitate prompt delivery schedules.
• Performed routine maintenance on warehouse machinery to prevent breakdowns and delays.
• Maintaining organisation and cleanliness of the warehouse to ensure a safe, logistical schedule

• Demolished areas, handled materials and moved heavy objects
• Gained first-hand understanding of construction site processes and health & safety.
• Invited back for private jobs, showed reliability and strong work ethic
• Found a passion for construction based roles

• Shadowed a contracts manager on live projects, gaining insight into project management and cost control.
• Observed budgeting processes, construction timelines, and coordination between contractors.
• Developed awareness of construction planning, contracts, and the role of surveyors in project delivery.
• Strengthened interest in pursuing a career in construction and quantity surveying.

• Served customers in a fast-paced environment, ensuring high levels of service and efficiency.
• Managed the bar independently, organised orders and handled admin tasks.
• Carried out preparation (stock count, fruit cutting, changing gas/pipes), developed responsibility and initiative.
