I currently work at a family learning centre in the 3-5-year-olds room where I support all children and staff, whilst attending university once a week.


My responsibilities in my nursery setting include:

  • Thoroughly cleaned and disinfected play areas to control health risks.
  • Assist meal time by carefully adhering to individual, dietary requirements and portioning standards.
  • Support children in their learning through observations, safeguarding and extended play.
  • Support my colleagues through effective communication by being attentive to their needs and knowing when to offer assistance.
  • Share information from University modules with colleagues.
  • Monitored interactions within group settings, encouraging sharing and cooperation to facilitate positive socialisation.
  • Establish rapport with families and deliver updates on their child's day.

My responsibilities were to help and support audit staff within Audit Scotland, my line manager and fellow business support services staff members, deliver a world-class reception service to all visitors to our office and maintain a work class environment for all staff to work within.


My Duties included -


  • Updating our business group's SharePoint page.

  • Chair and minute-taking for meetings, produce.
  • Deliver team objectives and values.
  • Update fellow team members on changes, tips/suggestions, and feedback from customers.
  • Format and print reports and letters.
  • Print and collate meeting papers.
  • Upload and save documents to SharePoint sites.
  • Book and liaise with external meeting venues.
  • Organise training and knowledge cafes.
  • Raise and update purchase orders and process invoices.


In addition to my day-to-day tasks, I was also the lead for mental health and well-being training within our business group and established a Managing the Menopause support group.

My main role was to process Road Traffic Accident Reports for the entire Strathclyde Police Force.

My duties included -

  • Interrogated, created, updated, and maintained electronic force and national databases to meet satisfactory and mandatory requirements laid down by the force, Scottish Executive and Home Office.
  • Perform administrative tasks associated with database management and maintenance.
  • Undertake speculative and interrogative searches of databases and records, and identify and associate as directed.
  • Provide permitted information to internal and external agencies (including solicitors and insurance companies) via telephone, written correspondence, and email.
  • Assign, collect and record fees for the request of abstract reports and precognitions.
  • Administration duties include processing internal and external mail, photocopying, scanning, faxing, and filing.
  • Oversee the training of new staff.


In the last two years of this role, I was required to manage my department when required which involved the distribution of work to staff, signing off required pieces of work, and recording daily revenue and weekly reports.
