My role within Canada Life is to develop sustainable and profitable business relationships with a panel of nominated advisors, positioning Canada Life as the preferred supplier of protection products including Life products, Income Protection and Critical Illness. My duties include:
I have been extremely successful in my role at Canada Life, since beginning my role I have exceeded all targets. In 2022 I had a target of £1.3m, I had finished the year writing £2.2m, that's over 900K of my annual target. With our critical illness product in 2022 I wrote 40% of the total standard premium for CIC out of a sales team of 20 account managers and we are ahead of number two in the Market. Recently in 2023 my target increased to £1.7m and I had finished the year writing £1.8m, in Q3 I had wrote over 500K of my target for that quarter. I regularly receive positive feedback from my clients complimenting me on my response time, accuracy and constant support. I have been nominated for the Cover Excellence Women In Protection awards for two categories, the rising star and business development manager of the year in 2021, 2023 and recently 2024. I am also active on corporate social media platforms such as LinkedIn gaining traction on my post's and raising my profile by being visible.
My role was to process all admin tasks in the claims department, gaining the licenses required for the role. I would process and review incoming claims for accuracy and completeness, including data entry in to the system, also calculating claim payments which requires great attention to detail. In this role I was able to build my knowledge of insurance and the products we offer, progressing in the role by assessing long-term GIP claims increasing my technical knowledge within the product. I provided excellent customer service by responding to inquiries in a timely manner, being friendly and professional on the phone which is one of the reasons I was noticed for my current account management role.
My role was to greet customers and provide assistance with product selection. I originally began in the stock room however the manager could see I was great when customer facing so was moved to the shop floor. My main station was based on the tills as I have great people skills and would always be friendly and professional. I assisted customer with purchases, returns and exchanges. . The main benefit from this role is the experience gained in enhancing my people skills.
