Days based role working within a team of four Plant Specialists covering serval 12 factories across 3 manufacturing sites responsible for the following

· Driving an obsolescence review of control gear and systems to ensure parts stocked and plans in place for when items direct replacement cannot be located.

· Working with numerous PLC manufacturers programming and support including but not limited too; Siemens, Allen Bradley, Beckhoff, Mitsubishi, Omron, Telemechanique and pilz .

· Managed high-risk projects, ensuring safety compliance at all times.

· Working with invertor and servo drives with higher level interactions eg replacing, addressing, homing and commissioning.

· Modifying, upgrading and adding functionality to a range of existing HMI's.

· Compiling & maintaining machinery safety audits (EStops/Guards/Light Barriers/Blades).

· Maintain & update site inventory for Safety PLCs, PLCs, Drives & HMI's.

· Maintain 100% technology backups for site (Safety PLC/PLC/Drives/HMI).

· Safety management of change, support teams with safety changes.

· Creation & delivery of in-house technical training for site electrical technicians.

· Technical support to electrical technicians & operations teams Including, out of hours support as required.

Collaborated with engineering team to optimise production processes within factory.

Operated diverse machinery, ensuring effective performance regardless of age and condition.

• Assisted in installation and commissioning of new production line using advanced technology.
• Tested safety systems to guarantee functionality and reduce machinery downtime.
• Diagnosed and rectified faults in components such as inverter drives and PLC modules.
• Ensured compliance with safety standards through dynamic risk assessments (Take5).
• Modified existing systems and updated drawings for integration of new systems.
• Contributed to continuous improvement initiatives and supported TPM projects.
• Carried out preventative maintenance tasks, resulting in less downtime.
• Tested newly installed systems with a focus on ensuring safety and functionality.
• Kept up-to-date with new technologies, incorporating them into work where suitable.

Diagnosed faults and executed repairs swiftly to minimise downtime in production.

• Reported significant breakdowns to Supervisor and Team Leader for resource allocation.
• Tested and replaced various electrical components, including sensors and relays.
• Interrogated PLC programmes, including Siemens Step 7 and TIA, to identify faults.
• Utilised SCADA systems for effective monitoring and control of processes.
• Conducted Lock Out Tag Out isolations as an Authorised Person to ensure safety compliance.
• Collaborated with Supervisor to optimise work schedules based on the Planned Maintenance System.
• Reviewed and updated risk assessments while supporting Lean and TPM initiatives across the company.
