  • At Virgin Media I was first hired to be on the Web sales team, our system would pick up orders that have gone wrong when customers have placed orders through the Virgin Medias website.
  • This could range from missing direct debit details, credit check referrals, manual credit checks, address actives, debts and deposits needed before we can offer any services.
  • We would simply outbound to the customer for the missing details and use our systems to complete the order for the customer.
  • On shift we would have an inbound call queue and customer queries could range from updating their details to ordering services over the phone, there are some unique queries where we would have to investigate the problem and get back to the customer with an update.
  • Within a month I moved to the Task Team where we would work multiple tasks, I would work Wayleave which involves getting permission from landlords or freeholders of property’s that have never had virgin services before.
  • We would need permission because the installation process is slightly intrusive on the grounds around the property as well as the property itself.
  • As well as Wayleave I would work new build, existing orders (which is existing customers upgrading their services), SOAP (allocating work to other departments), mobile orders, on the day failed installs and pre-installs so we will know whether we need landlord permission or not (could also need neighbours' permission if the technicians need to bring over a cable).
  • With all this I was specialized on a process called bulk accounts, this would involve speaking with landlords of property’s who have set up services in their name for their multiple properties.
  • If they had any problems etc. bills were incorrect, disconnecting residential services and transferring them to business accounts, new orders for new property’s, refunds, discounts, upgrades and downgrades.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide customers with detailed information about Virgin Media products, including broadband, TV packages, mobile, and home phone services.
