Sourcing, managing and delivering student-led projects with all types of organisations (both national and international) for mutual benefit.


Developed new and existing relationships with organisations across Sheffield City Region and beyond. This involved:

  • Marketing and promotional activities raising awareness of the scheme, by attending networking events; business presentations; researching, identifying and promoting the scheme directly to organisations; maintaining social media platforms and creating written and video content for the team blog.
  • Established a good rapport with clients, which allowed me to gain access to their social network and potential organisations which helped me to cultivate an extensive client base.
  • Ensured high levels of service delivery and improved staff knowledge by creating a "Client Meeting Toolkit". Facilitated training, as well as provided mentoring opportunities to help build confidence.
  • Successful in sourcing on average 60 new organisations and over 170 projects every academic year.


Managed on average 80 projects, working with over 50 organisations and over 800 students across all levels and faculties every academic year. This involved:

  • Liaising with student groups, academics and external organisations in arranging meetings, booking meeting rooms and arranging travel.
  • Database management for recording client development, feedback from clients, Project Scoping Form submissions, projects received, reporting (for gathering statistics) and module data among others.


Events and Promotions Officer

One of a community-based consortium of social enterprise support partners collaborating with Sheffield City Region Growth Hub to deliver European Regional Development Fund funded Social Enterprise Exchange programme to promote social entrepreneurship.


Creating strong brand presence for GWSY and promoting its key initiatives through planning, marketing and execution of 20+ events to date for funder and beneficiary audiences of up to 120. This has included:

  • Project managing planning and delivery of 120-attendee 2016/17 annual event, from venue selection, catering and invitations, to securing and coordinating speakers and stall holders and hosting event.
  • Coordinating all aspects of regular business planning, social marketing, bid writing and Accelerate workshops; ensuring that agreed outputs are met in line with funding requirements.


Supporting development of successful local community social ventures by contributing to effective delivery of Social Enterprise Exchange (SEE) programme and associated Accelerate project. This involved:

  • Promoting SEE/Accelerate by planning and executing marketing events and social media campaigns
  • Driving SEE programme engagement by end-to-end managing organisation and delivery of Accelerate business workshops as part of a consortium of specialist social enterprise partners
  • Maximising attendance by creating delegate lists and inviting relevant clients and stakeholders, in consultation with enterprise coaches
  • Informing on going programme development by gathering and analysing post-event feedback and reporting insights gained to Senior Enterprise Coach


Improving engagement and interaction with targeted audience groups through development and active management of GWSY's website and social media accounts. This has involved:

  • Capturing and sharing SEE client success stories, promoting Accelerate project updates and regularly creating and posting new content.

Community Enabler (Tesco Bags of Help)

Groundwork administered local community grant scheme project, using money raised from the sale of Tesco carrier bags to fund UK wide community improvement projects in support of development and increased use of community spaces.


Delivering support to over three times targeted stakeholder numbers by raising the scheme profile via promotional events and delivered in partnership with community champions and Tesco store managers. These have included:

  • In-store and community funding fairs; community presentations and meetings for prospective applicants.
  • Growing applicant numbers by researching, identifying and promoting scheme to groups most likely to apply.
  • Enabling local stakeholders to secure £600K+ in funding in just two years by supporting public nominations and preparation and submission of high quality grant applications


Celebrating and promoting successful projects; capturing and sharing local community impact of grant funding and project progress, while supporting grantees PR activities. This has included:

  • Maximising project engagement, and showcasing grants by generating case studies, artwork and regular content, sharing on GWSY website, via social media channels, in Tesco stores and at community venues.
