  • Currently work in Intermediate Care providing physiotherapy care in the community setting

  • Caseloads vary from post orthopaedic rehab and gynae surgery patients to post falls and trauma patients and also our patients with multiple co-morbidities and cognitively impaired patients

  • Rotations consisted of 9 months in various different service areas and locations around the Newry and Mourne area
  • My first rotation May 2014- March 2015 I worked in pelvic health under the supervision of the senior physiotherapist
  • I was responsible for managing my own caseload, carrying out assessments, identifying any issues and formulating treatment plans through shared decision making with my patients
  • I have experience in vaginal and anal examinations, the use of biofeedback and muscle stimulation
  • Various conditions I am competent in treating are; UI, FI, POP, birthing injuries (perineal tears, assisted deliveries), urgency, frequency, PGP, constipation, dyspareunia, antenatal women, rectus diastisis, and many more pelvis health related complaints
  • April 2015- December 2015 I worked in domiciliary physiotherapy
  • I was responsible for closely supervising more junior and basic grade staff as their role involved lone working in the community in rural areas

  • I managed the service 2-3 times a week when more senior staff were absent

  • I was solely responsible for covering the maternity ward and reviewing all the women postnatally providing advice and exercise to all the ladies with c-sections, perineal injuries, pelvic girdle pain or any MSK related issues post delivery

I loved the reformer training and have tried to get to classes but due to the logistics around timing and locality of classes it has been difficult. Excited to see another local reformer studio open!
